Georgia Yulista employees participated in "Georgia Casual Week" in support of vital programs for the Georgia Academy for the Blind, and presented $200 to Dr. Cindy Gibson, the school’s principal. This was an employee-choice fundraiser coordinated through YAI HR whereby the team could dress casually for the week of April 20-24, 2015. For that privilege, participants made monetary donations based on their comfort of giving.
Governor Nathan Deal recognized the importance of this cause and declared by Proclamation, April 20-24 2015 as Georgia Casual Week. Through “Georgia Casual Week” our team was able to assist in the empowerment of these children to rise above their disabilities and find their rightful place in society.
The academy's Student Fund, which is funded solely through donations, is essential for students’ welfare and growth in a variety of areas. It funds field trips, athletics, personal items including clothes for those who need them, adaptive equipment and devices, special events including camps that are designed for children, tuition for college or other training programs for youth with visual and multiple impairments. These programs are vital to the development of these children.
